Basheer Ahmed celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A BSc graduate of Osmania University, Hyderabad Dr. Ahmed holds an MD from DOW medical college,Karahi Pakistan
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Canada and a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London. He is a distinguished life fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He was assistant professor at Albert Einstein College of medicine New York and was the professor at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. He is the former professor of Psychiatry southwestern Medical School, Dallas, TX.
He founded Muslim Community Center for Human Services (MCCHS) in 1995. MCCHS was established to provide Medical and Social Services through Al-Shifa medical/dental clinic to the indigent residents of Dallas/Fort Worth area irrespective of Race, Religion and Country of Origin. It also provides Mental Health Services and Counseling to victims of Domestic Violence.
He established IQRA peace initiative to bring together all denominations and sects of Muslims as one Ummah.
He founded Institute of Medieval and Post Medieval Studies(IMPMS) to disseminate the information about the Islamic civilization’s contributions to the world civilization
